Abstract

The total workforce in August 2022 was 168,291 people, an increase of around 0.0178 percent compared to August 2021 or around 30 people in the workforce. However, this increase in the number of labor force was not accompanied by the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK). The August 2022 TPAK fell from 85.73 percent to 85.01 percent.
  • The August 2022 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 0.88 percent, down by around 0.61 percentage points compared to August 2021.
  • The working population was 166,805 people, an increase of 1,050 people from August 2021. The jobs that experienced the largest percentage increase were the industrial sector, around 21.93 percent compared to August 2021.
  • As many as 140,735 people (84.37 percent) work in informal activities, down 1.46 percentage points compared to August 2021.
  • There are 3,942 people (1.99 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. This figure consists of unemployment due to the COVID-19 pandemic (110 people) and working residents who have experienced reduced working hours due to the COVID-19 pandemic (3,832 people).
