Abstract

  • The total workforce in February 2023 was 7.874 million people, an increase of 136 thousand people compared to February 2022. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 0.15 percentage point.
  • The working population is 7.461 million people, an increase of 146 thousand people from February 2022. The jobs that experienced the largest increase were the Wholesale and Retail Trade Sector; Car and Motorcycle Repair and Maintenance (141 thousand people).
  • As many as 3.16 million people (42.38 percent) work in formal activities, up 3.25 percentage points compared to February 2022.
  • The percentage of underemployed and part-time workers has decreased, respectively by 1.68 percentage points and 1.89 percentage points compared to February 2022.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) for February 2023 was 5.24 percent, down by 0.23 percentage points compared to February 2022.
  • There are 220 thousand people (1.97 percent) of the working age population affected by COVID-19. Consisting of the unemployed due to COVID-19 (eight thousand people), Non-Labor Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (13 thousand people), temporarily unemployed due to COVID-19 (one thousand people), and working residents who have experienced reduced working hours due to COVID-19 (198 thousand people).
