Abstract

• The export value through loading ports in the North Sumatra region in April 2019 has decreased compared to March 2019, namely from US $ 658.20 million to US $ 607.12 million or a decrease of 7.76 percent. When compared with April 2018, North Sumatra's exports decreased by 17.58 percent.

• The increase in North Sumatra's export value in April 2019 against March 2019 occurred in the rubber and rubber goods category (HS 40) of US $ 12.31 million (13.94%) followed by various chemical products (HS 38) of US $ 8.27 million (11.53%) and coffee, tea, spices (HS 09) amounting to US $ 5.28 million (14.68%) while the decline in exports occurred in animal / vegetable fats and oils (HS 15) of US $ 64, 35 million (-25.88%) and tobacco (HS 24) of US $ 7.34 million (-29.68%).

• Exports to China in April 2019 were the largest, namely US $ 102.19 million, followed by the United States at US $ 85.21 million and Japan at US $ 43.82 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 38.08 percent.

• According to the group of export destination countries in April 2019, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) are the largest with a value of US $ 232.19 million (38.24 percent).
