Enhancing Data Quality: BPS Dairi Holds Quality Assurance Discussion through Quality Gates

On Wednesday (July 2), BPS Kabupaten Dairi held the 6th episode of Berdasi (Berdiskusi Data dan Informasi), its regular internal knowledge-sharing session conducted every first Wednesday of the month. The event was held in an engaging and interactive atmosphere.

This time, the session featured Frisca Munthe as the speaker, moderated by Juando Siallagan, discussing a critical topic: "Data Quality Assurance through Quality Gates."

What are Quality Gates (QG)?
In simple terms, QG are “quality checkpoints” embedded within each stage of the statistical business process. Before moving to the next phase, the current process is reviewed to ensure its quality. This serves as a risk management strategy to detect potential errors as early as possible.

The main goal is to ensure that the data produced by BPS is not only accurate but also meets the six quality dimensions: relevance, accuracy, timeliness & punctuality, coherence & comparability, accessibility, and interpretability.

Through the implementation of QG as regulated in BPS Regulation Number 117 of 2023, BPS is committed to continuously improving data quality to support effective and well-targeted development policies.
