Njuah-njuah... Horas... Mejuah-juah!
On February 27, 2025, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Dairi Regency held a training session for officers responsible for the verification and updating of the Integrated National Socioeconomic Data (DTSEN). The training was attended by 29 verification officers and one district coordinator from 15 sub-districts across Dairi Regency. The event was also attended by the Head of BPS Dairi, a Senior Expert Statistician from BPS North Sumatra Province, and the Head of the Social Affairs Office of Dairi Regency.
In his opening remarks, the Head of BPS Dairi emphasized that DTSEN is an integrated database that will be used by the Ministry of Social Affairs for the distribution of the second phase of social assistance. The DTSEN data is sourced from three main bases: the Socioeconomic Registration (Regsosek), the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), and the Targeting for the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Eradication (P3KE). Therefore, the verification and updating process must ensure that the data collected is truly accurate and valid. He also urged all officers to actively engage in the training and to work honestly and professionally in the field.
The Head of the Social Affairs Office of Dairi Regency, Agel Siregar, also participated in the virtual meeting. He stated that his office would soon issue official letters to sub-district heads and village heads to ensure that the verification officers are well received in the field. Coordination between BPS and local governments is key to the success of DTSEN. He also expressed hope that the ground-checking process could be completed ahead of the one-month schedule, allowing time for re-verification before the finalization of the data.
Meanwhile, Juando Siallagan, a National Instructor, provided training on the concepts and definitions of DTSEN ground-check variables, interview techniques, and methods for verifying respondents' answers to ensure data validity. He also emphasized that the officers' role is to update the data based on actual field conditions, not to determine who qualifies for assistance.
With a spirit of collaboration and high integrity, let us ensure the success of DTSEN for accurate data and well-targeted policies!
