Good morning, everyone! This Monday, BPS Dairi is thrilled to host another session of our Positive Morning Monday Activities (KEPPAS), focusing on a captivating topic: the tradition of Ulos in Batak culture, particularly among the Toba Batak tribe. Binara Tua and Marisi Theresa, our speakers for this event, will delve into the history and significance of the Ulos, a symbol of celebration for every life stage in Batak customs.
Our speakers will also explore various types of Ulos, such as the Ulos Mangiring, which is given to newborns; Ulos Pinuneaan, used during weddings to symbolically connect the bride's parents with the groom's; and Ulos Sibolang, worn during times of mourning.
As globalization pushes us away from our cultural roots, this session aims to enhance cultural literacy and appreciation among the youth for the rich Batak heritage. Join us as we celebrate love and life through the beautiful expressions of Ulos.
