Abstract

Farmer's Exchange Rate is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).
Farmer's Exchange Rate is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. Farmer's Exchange Rate also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
In January 2022, the Farmer's Exchange Rate of Sumatera Utara Province (2018=100) was recorded at 126.75 or up 0.63 percent compared to the NTP in December 2021, which was 125.95.
The increase in Farmer's Exchange Rate in January 2022 was due to an increase in FTT in three sub-sectors, namely the Farmer's Exchange Rate for the People's Plantation Sub-sector by 1.27 percent, the Farmer's Exchange Rate for the Livestock sub-sector by 0.61 percent, and the Farmer's Exchange Rate for the Fisheries sub-sector by 0.60 percent. Meanwhile, the FTT for the Food Crops subsector decreased by 0.09 percent and the FTT for the Horticulture sub-sector decreased by 2.05 percent.
Changes in the Household Consumption Index reflect the rate of rural inflation/deflation. In January 2022, rural inflation in Sumatera Utara was 0.62 percent.
The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate of Sumatera Utara Province in January 2022 was 125.78, an increase of 0.72 percent compared to the previous month's The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate.
