Abstract
In October 2019,
the North Sumatra Province NTP (2012 = 100) was recorded at 98.08, up 0.75
percent compared to the September 2019 NTP which was 97.34.
The increase in
NTP in October 2019 was caused by the increase in the Horticulture subsector
NTP by 1.18 percent, and the NTP of the People's Plantation Plant subsector by
2.99 percent. While the NTP of the Food Crop sub-sector fell by 0.74 percent,
the NTP of the Livestock Subsector fell by 0.88 percent, and the NTP of the
Fisheries Subsector fell by 0.90 percent.
Changes in the
Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation
rate. In October 2019, rural deflation occurred in North Sumatra by 0.01
percent. This was caused by the decline in the index of the foodstuffs group by
0.14 percent. While the index of the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and
tobacco group increased by 0.14 percent, the housing group index rose by 0.08
percent, the clothing group index rose by 0.10 percent, the health group index
rose by 0.13 percent, the group index Education, Recreation, and Sports
increased by 0.05 percent, and the transportation and communication group index
increased by 0.05 percent.
North Sumatra
Province Agriculture Exchange (NTUP) in October 2019 amounted to 107.41 or an
increase of 0.71 percent compared to NTUP the previous month.
