Abstract
Production
growth of the Large and Medium Manufacturing Industry of North Sumatra Province
in the third quarter of 2019 increased by 1.26 percent when compared to the
same period in 2018 (y-on-y). This increase was mainly due to an increase in
the production growth of the non-metal mining products industry by 53.71
percent, the paper and paper products industry by 40.59 percent and the
beverage industry by 33.86 percent.
The growth of
large and medium manufacturing industry (q-to-q) of North Sumatra Province in
the third quarter of 2019 increased by 11.46 percent compared to the production
of large and medium manufacturing industries in the second quarter of 2019. The
type of industry that experienced an increase was the beverage industry by
27.83 percent, the paper and paper products industry by 25.39 percent, and the
rubber industry, rubber and plastic goods by 22.54 percent.
The growth of
micro and small manufacturing industries in North Sumatra Province in the third
quarter of 2019 increased by 6.45 percent compared to the same period in 2018
(y-on-y). Types of industries that experienced an increase include the metal
goods industry, not machinery and equipment by 26.55 percent, other
manufacturing industries by 25.97 percent, and the chemical and chemical
products industry by 24.45 percent.
The growth of
micro and small manufacturing industry production in North Sumatra Province in
quarter III-2019 decreased by 3.00 percent compared to quarter II-2019
(q-to-q). Types of industries that experienced a decline include the leather
industry, leather goods and footwear by 40.27 percent, other transportation
equipment industries by 17.06 percent, and the rubber industry, rubber and plastic
goods by 11.86 percent.
