The number of North Sumatra tourists in January 2018 amounted to 14,999 Visits

•      The number of foreign tourists visiting North Sumatera through 4 (four) entrances in January 2018 reached 14,999 visits, a decrease of 46.39 percent compared to that coming in December 2017 reaching 27,978 visits. Similarly, when compared to the same month in 2017, the number of foreign tourists in January 2018 fell 25.79 percent, from 20,212 visits in January 2017 to 14,999 visits.

•      In January 2018, foreign tourists from Malaysia are the largest visitors with 8,900 visits or 59.34 percent of total foreign tourists visiting North Sumatra.

•      The star-rated room occupancy rate (TPK) of star-rated hotels in North Sumatera in January 2018 reached an average of 46.57 percent, down 11.70 points compared to December 2017 of 58.27 percent.The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in January 2018 reached 1.47 days, down 0.11 points compared to December 2017.

•      The number of domestic passengers departing from North Sumatra through Kualanamu International Airport during January 2018 reached 372,984 people, up 16.99 percent compared to December 2017 which reached 318,806 people.

•      The number of inter-island sea passengers who departed in January 2018 was 13,993 people, up 113.83 percent compared to the previous month's 6,544 people
